Please read these Terms carefully before using kwyd. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to be bound by them. If you don't agree, don't use kwyd.
You must be at least 13 years old to use kwyd. By creating an account, you confirm you are. If you're under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13; if we discover we have, we'll delete the account promptly.
You're responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity under it. Don't share your password or let others access your account. If you think your account has been compromised, contact us at hello@kwyd.app immediately. Your username can only be changed once every 30 days.
kwyd lets you post short ephemeral status updates ("kwyds") of up to 32 characters that expire in 24 hours, connect with up to 20 approved friends, send direct messages of up to 32 characters, react to friends' kwyds, and share optional mood and location context. kwyd is for personal, non-commercial use only. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
You own the content you post. By posting, you grant kwyd a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, and display it solely to operate the Service. That license ends when you delete the content or your account.
Don't post content that is unlawful, harassing, abusive, defamatory, or obscene; infringes third-party rights; contains spam or automated messages; promotes illegal activity; impersonates anyone; or violates applicable law.
Kwyds expire after 24 hours unless pinned. Pinned kwyds (up to 3) stay visible until unpinned or your account is deleted. Archived kwyds may be retained in a non-visible state for aggregate analytics. To have all data deleted, delete your account.
You may have up to 20 accepted friends. You can block anyone at any time. Direct messages can only be sent between accepted friends, are limited to 32 characters, and may only reference a kwyd in a conversation with the person who posted it — forwarding someone else's kwyd to a third party is not permitted and is enforced server-side.
Don't attempt to access systems or data not authorized for your use; reverse engineer the app; use bots or scrapers; introduce malware; circumvent security mechanisms; harass or harm other users; create multiple accounts to evade restrictions; or use kwyd for commercial purposes without our written consent.
The kwyd name, logo, app, and all associated software and designs are owned by or licensed to kwyd. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership rights to you.
Your use of kwyd is governed by our Privacy Policy, incorporated here by reference.
kwyd uses Supabase for database and backend infrastructure. We don't use advertising networks, cross-site tracking analytics, or social login integrations beyond kwyd's own authentication.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DON'T WARRANT THAT IT WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. YOUR USE IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KWYD SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PRECEDING TWELVE MONTHS OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100).
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless kwyd and its officers, employees, and agents from claims arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if we believe you've violated these Terms. You may delete your account at any time in Settings. Sections 4, 7, 10, 11, 12, 14, and 15 survive termination.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Disputes that can't be resolved informally shall be submitted to binding arbitration in Cook County, Illinois under AAA rules. You waive the right to participate in a class action. Either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property or unauthorized access matters.
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and kwyd. If any provision is found unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary and the rest remain in effect. We may update these Terms from time to time; we'll notify you of material changes through the app or by email, and continued use after the effective date means you accept the update.
